Celebes Tour 18 Days/17 Nights
Day 1 Makassar-Toraja
The driver and I pick you up at Hotel or Airport in Makassar and then visiting Karst area in Rammang-Rammang and take a boat trip to Berua remote village through Pute River. After that, drive to Toraja by passing a few Bugis villages. The trip takes place around 7-8 hours. Lunch will be served in local resto and stop in Bambapuang village for coffee/tea break. Lately afternoon arrive in Rantepao and check in hotel.
Day 2 Rantepao-Batutumonga
We have full day tour where we head to southern part of Toraja and explore historical sites, such as: Londa the former fort in the era of the monarchy and being converted its function as burial cave, Lemo the second oldest stone graves where the deceased are being placed in the niche on the cliff, Kambira a baby grave in the living tree (belongs to animist belief), Ke' Te' Kesu' one of traditional villages in Toraja by presenting a few traditional houses (Tongkonan) and rice barns (Alang Sura') which are built without using modern materials. Lunch will be served in Rantepao and then drive up to Batutumonga and check in Guest House OR Traditional House).
Day 3 Batutumonga Hiking-Rantepao
After breakfast, we hike down to Lempo village by passing ricefields and houses of locals and seeing the view of Rantepao as well and then drive to Bori' megalith stones and Bolu livestock market. Lunch will be served in Rantepao. After that check in hotel.
Day 4 Toraja-Tentena
After breakfast, we drive to Tentena at 07.30 am and on the way stop in Puncak Battang for coffee /tea break (around 24 km from Palopo city) while enjoying the view of rainforest. Lunch will be served in Mangkutana (sub-district of Luwu Timur regency). Lately afternoon, arrive in Tentena, check in hotel.
Day 5 Tentena-Ampana
After breakfast, drive to Ampana (around 5 hours) and stop for a while in Saluopa waterfall. Lunch will be served on the way. Early afternoon, arrive in Ampana. Check in hotel.
Day 6 Ampana-Togian
After breakfast, the driver drop us off at Ampana port to take a speed boat for reaching Wakai port (around 2 hours). From Wakai, we drive to Kadidiri Island (more than 10 minutes) with different boat.
Day 7 Togian
After breakfast, we take a boat trip for snorkeling at California Reef, seeing jelly fish at the lake, Bajo village at Papan Island, swimming and coffee/tea break on the uninhabited Karina Beach. Lunchbox will be served on board. Lately afternoon, back to Kadidiri Island.
Day 8 Togian
We take a boat trip to Una-Una Island for diving. Lately afternoon back to Kadidiri island.
Day 9 Togian
Free program.
Day 10 Togian-Wakai-Gorontalo
Lately afternoon back to Wakai port to take Ferry boat for Gorontalo. Dinner and overnight on board.
Day 11 Gorontalo-Tomohon
Arrive in the early morning in Gorontalo and drive directly to Tomohon. Breakfast and lunch on the way. Lately afternoon, arrive in Tomohon. Check in resort.
Day 12 Tomohon-Tangkoko
After breakfast, visiting traditional market, Waruga ancient stone grave and Mahawu volcano and then drive to Tangkoko. Check in homestay.
Day 13 Tangkoko
We explore Tangkoko National Park in the morning and in the afternoon.
Day 14 Tangkoko-Bunaken
After breakfast, drive to Manado port or Mangrove Park Bahowo to take a boat for Bunaken island.
Day 15, 16, 17 Bunaken
During these days you could diving or snokeling or just relax on the island.
Day 18 Bunaken-Manado Airport
Transfer to airport for your next destination.
Noted:
- The program could be modified according to your wish and the period of your stay in Sulawesi,
- There are a few island you could choose for your stay in Togian, such as: Malenge Island, Katupat, Bomba
- The tour on first day could be started in Manado
